Three Different Things Can Sit on a Utah Agent Line. Rocket Lawyer's Version Costs $125.
A transparent $99/year for registered agent representation in Utah. Address used on filings, same-day legal mail scanning, and compliance reminders are part of the rate.
Ownership statement, up front: this page belongs to Utah Registered Agent.co, our own Utah appointment sells for $99 annually, and a reader who switches becomes revenue for us. Rocket Lawyer's pricing below is Rocket Lawyer's published pricing as of a July 2026 check.
Credit Where It Is Owed
Registered agent service from Rocket Lawyer costs $125 annually, and that number holds at every membership level they sell. No introductory rate, no tier that quietly reprices the agent line, no discount that lapses in month thirteen. In a market that runs on expiring numbers, that discipline is genuinely uncommon and we would rather say so than pretend the whole field is identical.
Our reservation is about fit, not honesty.
You Are Buying a Platform, Not an Address
Rocket Lawyer's actual product is a legal subscription: document libraries, contract templates, attorney consultations, and the agent duty riding along beside all of it. Owners who work through those tools regularly are getting fair value for $125.
Owners who wanted a Utah street address and fast scanning are paying subscription rates for a mail function. Utah does not require a document library. It requires a place inside its borders where papers can be handed to a person.
What Utah Actually Regulates
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereUtah keeps company records at the Department of Commerce, in its Division of Corporations and Commercial Code, and the state's registered-agent law recognizes three separate ways to fill that line.
The first is a commercial agent, a business that files a listing with the Division and holds appointments for a living. That describes us, and it describes Rocket Lawyer.
The second is a noncommercial agent: any other qualifying individual or entity, usually a member or an employee absorbing the duty alongside their real job.
The third is the one almost no vendor volunteers. Your LLC cannot write its own name on the agent line, but Utah law lets the filing point at a role inside the company instead, with service delivered to whoever is sitting in that chair on the day a process server arrives. The record then describes a function rather than a person, and the arrangement survives the resignation of whoever currently holds it.
Utah charges nothing for that. It collects in a different currency. The designation still has to stand behind a genuine Utah street address, or a rural route box, and that address becomes part of a public record any competitor or claimant can pull up in seconds. A PO box may sit after the street address on that filing and never instead of it. Attendance is the other half of the bargain: the state expects a human being at that address through the working day, including the days when everyone who works there is somewhere else, and an empty office fails the test on the single day it matters.
| Who ends up on the line | Cost per year | What Utah then expects |
|---|---|---|
| A role inside your own LLC | $0 | A staffed Utah street address, published |
| Utah Registered Agent.co | $99 | Nothing after enrollment |
| Rocket Lawyer | $125 | Nothing after enrollment |
If you run a shop in Provo with someone at the counter all day and no privacy concern, the free route is real and we would rather you heard about it here. If you operate the Utah entity from Boise or from a spare bedroom, that route is closed or unappealing, and the question becomes which agent instead.
Before that reads as a cheapest-in-Utah claim, it is not one. BetterLegal's published rate is $90.
What Our $99 Covers
Our Utah street address takes the place of yours on the public filing. Whatever gets served on the company is imaged the day it arrives and delivered through the portal with a notice behind it. State mail on the same footing. Reminders ahead of your anniversary month. Regular business mail that is not legal process runs $15 an item to scan, and that is the only additional charge we have, printed here rather than surfacing later.
How to Drop Rocket Lawyer From a Utah Filing
The Division moves an agent appointment on one change form for LLC registration information. Utah numbers none of its business forms, so there is nothing to search for beyond that description, and the current version is posted on the Division's change forms page. The processing fee is $17, non-refundable, and identical whether you mail the paper version or make the change through the state's online registration system with a UtahID login. One year of Rocket Lawyer would pay for that filing seven times.
Better still, the fee disappears if you time it right. Submit the agent change together with your annual renewal and Utah waives the $17.
The order of operations is where people get hurt. Appoint us first, file the change, and only then close the Rocket Lawyer account. Utah reads your record continuously and treats the agent field as permanently occupied, so the dangerous configuration is a cancelled subscription still printed on the public file with nobody minding the address behind it. Paying two providers for a week is cheap insurance; a summons delivered to an abandoned address is not.
Rocket Lawyer does not sign the change and cannot delay it. The outgoing agent learns about the switch from the record, the same way everyone else does.
The Deciding Question
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereConsume the whole subscription and $125 earns its keep. Consume one slice of it and you should know that Utah holds the expensive agent, the cheap agent, and the internal role to one standard: an address within the state, a person behind it while the working day lasts, and documents forwarded without a wait.
